Arun Koundinya’s Success Story from Don Bosco Navajeevan Bala Bhavan Society, Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh

Perplexed with the whereabouts of his son (Arun Koundinya), Mr. Srinivasa Koundinya, a journalist by profession, approached Navajeevan, Vijayawada to find him. It was then he met Fr. Koshy sdb  and Anu aunty, who did every bit of effort to help him search for his eight year old missing son. But an year later, Arun was found roaming at Hyderabad railway station. He was taken by the police to a remand home in Bandara, Maharashtra. However, he managed to run away only to land up in Hyderabad again, to search for his father. And finally they met in Hyderabad.

Mr. Srinivas Koundinya was in fact a heart patient. He died after a year, placing both of his kids [Arun and his elder sister, Sarah] into the hands of Fr. Koshy sdb and Ms. Anu. Their mother could not be traced as the family broke up when they were hardly between 4 to 6 years.   The children were placed at Don Bosco School, Ravulapalem. Arun successfully completed his secondary schooling in 2003.

Meanwhile, Navajeevan could trace the mother, Susan, in Delhi, working in a school, who was delighted to join with her children again.  Arun finished his Intermediate [Junior college] from Andhra Loyola Educational Institute, Vijayawada.  He later completed B.Sc. computers.

Present Position and Expectations for the future:

He was trained for a year at the Indian Air-force Academy, Hyderabad and commissioned as a Flying Officer.  Arun, now 23 years old, is placed as a Ground Duty Officer in Lucknow.

Arun is ever grateful to Don Bosco Navajeevan  especially Fr. Koshy sdb and aunty Anu for having given him a new lease of life.
