MESSAGE TO STUDENTS

Dear Students!

I have been motivating school, college and university students, through brief interactive sessions , bringing out the best in them by building self confidence and setting proper target in life. Being involved in the field of education and teaching for the past forty years, I have tried to instil the various methods I have learnt while guiding my students. I found the results very encouraging and all of them have been very successful in achieving their targets through systematic study and hard work.

Study methods vary from person to person. There is no ideal method that is suitable to all as people differ in their perceptions. I present in my booklet TIPS TO STUDENTS: HOW TO STUDY & SUCCEED, a few guidelines that may be useful for you. You may try to apply them and evolve a method of your own to make the best of your studies and attain your goal in life.
I dedicate my effort at this educative task to honour DON BOSCO, the father and friend of youth, on whose footsteps I have walked as an educator and mentor to my students.

Dr. AJ Sebastian sdb
Former Professor & Head

Given below is a “Bouquet of appreciation” I receive from my past students when I took voluntary retirement on health grounds after 16 years of teaching in the Department of English, Nagaland Central University. It is a tribute Don Bosco’s Preventive system of Education which I practiced.

The first thing that comes to my mind about our beloved Father Sebastian is his warm smile and friendly nature that welcomed us into the family of English Department. Metamorphosis still remains alive and will be remembered for years to come. Thank you father, for being our friend, teacher, guide and mentor.we will never forget you for all that you have done and the sacrifices you made for us. May your resting years be favored with good health, joy and peace. We love father and we still miss you and your classes.

Dear father,
Even today, I never forget the day you gave me Kit-Kat chocolate for having regular attendance in class during my first year in M.A. Or the time when I was so nervous when I had my Viva voce for the first time that you literally finished my sentences for me. These are some moments that I remember fondly and appreciate your compassion and patience. There is never a dull day in your class- where your teachings extends beyond the textbooks and we learn valuable lessons on life as well. The Birthday Party, Zoo story and Metamorphosis are some which have become favorites of mine after you taught with such animation and enthusiasm. As you go from here, I just want you to know that a part of me will always be wishing you well in everything you do.

I owe what I’am to the wonderful man- the awesome teacher under whom I grew not just for a few years but all my life. I remember how you were always there when I was but just a wee school girl and that hasn’t changed over the years. You will always be adored and fondly thought of.
